What CalHop connects

CalHop is a calendar-to-navigation app for iPhone and Android. It reads appointments from the calendars you select, uses eligible physical destinations for travel estimates and opens directions in a supported maps app. Your original appointments remain with your calendar provider.

For an Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar, connect the Microsoft account inside CalHop. Google calendars use the Google connection. On iPhone and iPad, Apple / iCloud can also use calendars already synced to your device, with permission. Android connects to calendar providers directly rather than reading the device-calendar database.

Connect Outlook or Google Calendar

  1. Open Calendar in CalHop. On iPhone or iPad, choose Add another account. On Android, use Select provider. Labels can differ between versions.
  2. Choose Microsoft or Google. Sign in to the account that holds your appointments and review the permissions requested.
  3. Select the calendars to include. Include the work or personal calendars you need; adding an account is not a reason to include every calendar associated with it.
  4. Return to Home. Check that the expected upcoming appointment appears.

Employer-managed Microsoft or Google accounts may need your organisation's approval. An administrator restriction is not a password error: ask your IT team about authorised calendar access rather than repeatedly reconnecting.

Choose the app that gives you directions

In CalHop Settings, select your preferred navigation app and make sure it is installed. On iPhone and iPad, the choices are Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze. On Android, use Google Maps or Waze. Availability depends on your device and the apps installed.

Add a full destination to the appointment in Outlook or Google Calendar: the street number, street name, suburb or city and postcode. A client name alone may not identify the right entrance. Return to CalHop Home to refresh, review the destination, then use Navigate while parked. The selected maps app handles the journey's directions.

Connecting Outlook does not make CalHop a replacement for Outlook, and choosing Waze does not move your calendar into Waze. CalHop connects the appointment to the route.

When an appointment or destination is missing

First confirm that the correct account and calendar are selected. Reconnect if the provider session has expired. For device calendars on iPhone or iPad, check calendar permission and that the calendar is available on the device. Android's device-calendar permission does not replace the provider connection.

Next, check the appointment location. Online meetings do not need a driving destination and may be excluded from travel planning. After editing an appointment, return to Home; CalHop refreshes while active and when you reopen Home, not continuously while closed.

For travel estimates, allow the requested location access. Leave-by notifications additionally require CalHop Pro, the Time to leave setting and notification permission. See the leave-by guide for the arrival-buffer calculation.

Where to get help

Use CalHop Support for the current platform-specific instructions. When requesting help, include the provider, device and app version, but do not send passwords, verification codes or private calendar details. The Privacy Policy explains how connections and provider records are handled.
